I am very aware that all our teams, owners and customers must be concerned at this time about Coronavirus. This is a fast moving situation and we are all in unchartered territory. A global pandemic of this kind is very rare and many of the consequences have not been considered. However, at Mayfield Villages and Audley Villages we are determined to stay ahead of the situation. The actions we have taken so far were in advance of Government advice as it was produced. We would prefer to be criticised for over reacting than risk not taking the situation seriously enough.
On Thursday 12th March we closed the restaurants and health clubs in all operating Audley villages until further notice. This has not yet impacted visitors to our Mayfield Watford development, although additional handwashing and sanitisation for our Mayfield sales team and guests has been in place for some weeks now, inline with guidance.
If you wish to visit Mayfield Watford, please call or book an appointment online before you visit. Our Mayfield Watford sales team will be asking some health and travel questions as a precautionary measure to protect you and the people working at Mayfield Watford. There have been no cases of Coronavirus in any of our operational or in development retirement villages to date, nor have we become aware of any direct contact with anyone with the virus. Our actions are precautionary measures to minimise the risk.
We will continue to communicate with our future owners, customers and staff regularly and share our plans.
A heartfelt thank you for your patience and understanding and to our dedicated teams for the hard work they are putting in to keep our construction plans progressing.
My thanks as always for your commitment to Mayfield and for your understanding at this difficult time.
Nick Sanderson, CEO, Mayfield Villages
