About the Brent Cross Town Development Masterplan
The £8 billion Brent Cross Town development is Barnet Councils most significant growth and regeneration programme to date, creating a new sustainable mixed use town centre linking residential, office and education buildings with retail, F&B, parks, squares, and leisure uses. Extending to 180 acres it will provide 6,700 new homes and the creation of up to 27,000 new jobs.
Renowned developer Related Argent, who are joint venture partners with Barnet Council, were also behind the regeneration areas of Kings Cross, London and Hudson Yards, New York. Both schemes have been highly successful in their sustainable transformation projects, bringing together a diverse range of homes, shops, offices, restaurants, bars and outdoor facilities.
The existing site is a brownfield site providing plenty of opportunity to optimise housing development and enhance green space within the town centre. The scheme pledges to be a net zero carbon town by 2030 through the employment of 100% renewable energy supplies and energy efficient buildings. The scheme aims to provide a new civic space with the local resident’s aspirations and sustainability at the forefront, bringing together the strengths of the existing town to redevelop the current site, and create a coherent and well connected development.
